Nobody – not even Nintendo – could have predicted the intensity of the Pokémon GO success but it is absolutely EVERYWHERE in a short space of time. It would stand to reason, therefore, that others may want to get in on the act and replicate the fruitful nature of the real world app.
Could HBO be tempted to jump on the phenomenon? A developer from Niantic – the company behind Pokémon GO – is hoping so. Archit Bhargava told Gamespot: ‘We’re really trying to create the genre of real-world gaming. No one’s really done this in a way that we were all excited about.
‘It’s all about getting people moving, getting them exploring the world around them. My personal fantasy is like a Game of Thrones game where Westeros is mapped out on Earth and you join House Stark or whatever.’
YOUR personal fantasy? Make that everyone in the world’s.
And we’re all ready for it!
